Tyler Bilodeau scored 16 points, Sebastian Mack scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half and UCLA opened Big Ten Conference play with a 69-58 home win over Washington on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

The Bruins (7-1, 1-0 Big Ten) stayed perfect at home and picked up their sixth straight win, leading most of the time in their first Big Ten game against longtime Pac-12 rival Washington .

With a 12-0 run, UCLA took the lead midway through the first half and took a lead that it never relinquished.

The Huskies (6-2, 0-1) chipped in late in the first half and into the second half, eventually cutting the deficit to two points on Mekhi Mason’s 3-pointer with 11:03 left. That was Washington’s last gasp as UCLA responded with 11 unanswered points in the next 1:57.

Dylan Andrews’ 3-pointer punctuated the run and gave the Bruins a lead that never fell below seven points. Washington got within seven points with 2:36 left, but another three-pointer from Andrews put the game away for good.

Andrews joined Bilodeau and Mack in scoring in double figures for UCLA. He scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half.

Mack provided three assists and grabbed five rebounds off the Bruins’ bench, while Bilodeau grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

Tyler Harris finished Washington’s loss with a double-double, scoring 12 points with 11 rebounds. The great Oobor flirted with his own double-double and grabbed nine rebounds for a total of 14 points.

However, Oobor struggled at the free throw line, making 6 of 11 points. Washington also struggled from the floor, making 19 of 49 shots, including 3 of 16 shots from beyond the 3-point arc.

The Huskies also committed 12 turnovers – eight by Oobor under constant pressure from the UCLA defense – which the Bruins cashed in for 18 points.
