United Airlines launches new flights from Portland to Texas

PORTLAND, Maine (WGME) – There will soon be a new way to get from Maine to Texas.

United Airlines is adding new seasonal nonstop service from the Portland Jetport to Houston, Texas this summer.

The new service will be offered on Saturdays starting June 28, 2025.

“This is a big announcement for the jetport,” said Paul Bradbury, airport director. “This coming summer, United Airlines will connect the world to Portland with nonstop service to five of its hubs. This level of service is truly remarkable and we are grateful for United’s continued investment in the Portland market.”

The new service will operate on a 76-seat Embraer E-175 aircraft.

Flights can be purchased on united.com.

United isn’t the only airline expanding its offerings at the jetport.

Earlier this year, Breeze Airways announced new flights from Portland to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, White Plains, New York and Sarasota, Florida.

JetBlue announced new flights to Orlando, Florida and Frontier Airlines added Cincinnati to its Portland offering.

Beginning May 22, 2025, Avelo Airlines will offer nonstop flights from Portland Jetport to Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut.
