Update on the December 13th power outage

Update 9:07 p.m

Partial power has mostly been restored south of the original cause of the outage, with service restored to 1,600 customers. Tonight the restoration of the City Light projects will be carried out.

A reader shared: “The power outage started at my house when a tree fell down the hill and knocked out the power lines next to my house and part of my car. The cause was not the transformer, but the tree that fell at my house and took out the power up here and then went down to the beach and destroyed the transformer. Because when the lights went out in our house, the lights were still on on Beach Drive.
