US squad named for 4-nation duel

The 4 Nations Face-Off is an international tournament hosted by the NHL and NHLPA and will feature teams of NHL players from the United States, Canada, Finland and Sweden.

Team USA will open the four-nation face-off against Finland on February 13 at the Bell Center in Montreal. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET and the game can be watched live on ESPN in the US. For the full Team USA schedule click here.

NOTES: Three players on the Team USA roster have won a Stanley Cup championship, including Matthew Tkachuk (Florida, 2024), Jack Eichel (Vegas, 2023) and Jake Guentzel (Pittsburgh, 2017) … All players, with the exception of Jake Guentzel, have previously represented the United States on the international stage. Jack Eichel And Dylan Larkin Both were part of seven U.S. teams in major international competitions Chris Kreider And Brock Nelson have both donned Team USA sweaters in six events…Nineteen of the 23 players competed in the USHL, the only Tier I junior league in the United States, and one player (Connor Hellebuyck), played in the NAHL, the only Tier II junior league in the United States… A total of 15 players are graduates of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program… In total, players from 16 NHL teams make up the Team USA roster (Boston, Carolina, Columbus , Detroit, Dallas, Florida, Minnesota, Ottawa, New Jersey, NY Rangers, NY Islanders, Tampa, Toronto, Vancouver, Vegas, Winnipeg) … The US squad includes four NHL captains (Quinn Hughes, Dylan Larkin, Austin Matthews, Brady Tkachuk) and 10 NHL alternate captains (Jack Eichel, Adam Fox, Jack Hughes, Chris Kreider, Charlie McAvoy, JT Miller, Brock Nelson, Jacob Slavin, Matthew Tkachuk, Zach Werenski) … Of the 23 players on Team USA, 18 competed as collegiate players, with 10 representing different schools. Boston University and the University of Michigan are at the top with four players each, followed by Boston College (3) and one each for Colorado College, Harvard University, University of Massachusetts-Lowell, University of Maine, University of Minnesota and the University of Nebraska. Omaha and University of North Dakota… There’s an Olympian on the list Brock Faberwho was part of the men’s ice hockey team at the 2022 Olympic Games in the USA … Mike Sullivan is the head coach of Team USA with assistant coaches John Tortorella, John Hynes And David Quinn. Mike Buckley serves as US goalkeeping coach Mike King And Madison Nickel the team’s video trainers.
