Utah QB Brandon Rose plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal

Utah quarterback Brandon Rose is accepted into the NCAA Transfer portalhe announced on his Twitter account on Championship Saturday.

Rose played sparingly for the Utes this season in relief before suffering a season-ending injury just weeks before the end of the season.

“I will enter my name into the portal with two years of eligibility remaining,” Rose wrote. “Utes Nation, I love you.”

Brandon Rose finished the season – his second season – completing 19 of 36 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw two interceptions. Brandon Rose also added 11 carries for 66 yards, showing some running ability.

Rose was injured in a game against BYUa game in which he made his first career start. The injury occurred in the final moments of the game, a competitive game against the Cougars.

Rose completed 12 of 21 passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns against one interception. He also ran seven times for 55 yards in the game.

Follow the game, coach Kyle Whittingham has confirmed that Brandon Rose was lost for the season.

“I thought he provided a spark and played really damn well,” Whittingham said after the game. “I thought Brandon did a really good job in his first college start and his first opportunity. He did some good things.”

Brandon Rose praised a few parties on the way out the door.

“First, I would like to thank God for all the blessings he has given me in my life. Without him none of this would be possible,” Rose wrote. “I would also like to thank my family for their constant support and belief.

“My time at the University of Utah was truly a blessing, to say the least. I was so grateful to be a part of this great program. I will be forever grateful for the lifelong relationships built here and for the entire Utah family!”
