Utah State hosts UC San Diego on Tuesday in its final home game of 2024

• Utah State made history last week by defeating South Florida, becoming the first Aggie Hoops team to ever open a season 10-0. Three teams had previously started 9-0.

• The Aggies are one of just five remaining undefeated teams in college basketball and are currently 10-0. Other undefeated teams include Florida (10-0), Oklahoma (10-0), Tennessee (10-0) and Drake (9-0).

• USU head coach Jerrod Calhoun is the first Aggie coach to win each of his first 10 games at Utah State. The best start by a coach to date was achieved by Ladell Anderson, who started the 1961/62 season with eight wins in a row.

• Second-year guard from Utah State Mason Falslev was named Mountain West Player of the Week for the third time in the last four weeks after posting 27 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and three steals, a career high, in the team’s win over South Florida.

• Fifth-year guard Ian Martínez has scored double digits in every competition this year. He ranks first in the Mountain West in free throws made (64), first in free throw percentage (.914), second in scoring average (18.1), fifth in 3-pointers made (2nd). .3) and twelfth in assist/turnover ratio (2.33) and 12th in assists (3.5).

• Falslev and Martinez are one of only two duos in the country each averaging at least 17 points and three assists per game. They are one of only eight couples in the country to each average 17 or more points.

• Utah State is ranked No. 20 in the latest NET rankings and is the top-ranked team in the Mountain West.

• Utah State receives votes in both the AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches polls.

• This will be only the second meeting ever between Utah State and UC San Diego. The last meeting was on December 4, 1999, an 80-58 USU win in Logan.

• Against current Big West opponents, Utah State is 209-103 (.670), including a home record of 128-26 (.831).
