Valerie Bertinelli defends her underwear selfie

Valerie Bertinelli is defending the exposed photo she recently posted after being shamed by internet trolls.

The celebrity chef’s reaction came after the 64-year-old shared a mirror selfie on Instagram on Tuesday. In the post, she showcased her body in a two-piece suit while also speaking openly about the long journey to finally feeling “acceptance” for “every lump, bump, wrinkle and sagging” part of her body.

“To everyone who judges my body, the photo and the reason I posted it: I hope you find a place in your heart where you don’t judge yourself as harshly as you judge others,” wrote them in the following -up post after their first post.

Sharing that she has “dealt with judgment her whole life” since she was a young girl, Bertinelli continued, “It took me a long time to realize that my judgment, with patient judgment, was the only one Judgment is what counts.”

“I have no power over other people’s judgment of me and now I have no interest. Finally,” added former weight loss program spokeswoman Jenny Craig. “It took me almost three years of emotional work to get to this point mentally, and I had physical setbacks in the first eight months of this year.”

Bertinelli concluded her message by telling her naysayers that she “doesn’t care” what they think of her body.

“I don’t care what you think about me posting it. For the first time in my life, I love my body the way it is… As challenging as it was and is, I am grateful for this journey and would never trade this body for my 20-year-old body. Always,” she added.

Earlier this year, Bertinelli criticized critics who criticized her for using filters on social media.

“I’m filming without a filter today because some of you get really upset when I decide to use a filter that I told you about,” she said in a now-deleted Instagram video in January. “Sometimes I use a filter, sometimes I don’t. Most of the time I use a filter because I have no makeup and it’s not a filter.”

The former Food Network star also addressed social media users who accused her of wearing wigs in her posts.

“Then can you please get me a wig without flipping the gray roots? Because I’m tired of getting my roots done every two weeks,” Bertinelli added as she ducked her head to give her followers a closer look to enable the hair roots.
