Vicente Luque gets record victory, wants Jorge Masvidal

Vicente Luque showed he shouldn’t be written off at this point in his career when he destroyed Themba Gorimbo at UFC 310.

Luque (22-10-1 MMA, 15-6 UFC) moved into second place on the all-time welterweight list when he defeated Gorimbo (14-4 MMA, 4-1 UFC) early in the fight at T-Mobile Arena rocked in Las Vegas. He then grabbed an anaconda choke that put his opponent out of action just 52 seconds into the fight.

It was a brilliant performance from Luque, who left many doubting his ability to return to top form after a brain hemorrhage almost ended his career a few years ago (via X):

Luque’s 14 stoppage victories in UFC welterweight competition trail only Matt Brown’s (15) all-time in the division, and afterward he declared his intention to claim many more in his career while facing Jorge Masvidal for a rumored UFC event in Miami Year 2011 called 2025.

“I’m back – I’m back to finish everyone,” Luque said in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. “You counted me out, but I’ve never been outside. I’m back. …Masvidal, there’s a show in Miami. Let’s go.”
