Konstas became the fourth youngest Test debutant for Australia when he received his wide green cap from former Australian captain Mark Taylor on Thursday at the age of 19 years and 85 days.

Ian Craig tops the list, having played his first game for the Aussies in 1953 at the age of 17 years and 239 days. Skipper Pat Cummins holds second place in the table, having made his debut in 2011 at the age of 18 years and 193 days. Tom Garrett is in third place and Clem Hill is fifth in the standings.

Konstas, who played for the Prime Minister’s XI in a two-day match against the touring Indians after the Perth Test, made a splash with a century against the visiting team.

In his 11 first-class matches, Konstas scored 718 runs at an average of 42.2, including two centuries and three half-centuries.

In the current Sheffield Shield season, Konstas is the fifth highest run-getter with 471 runs in five games at an average of 58.87, including two centuries and a fifty, with a best of 152.
