Warmer days and some rain are likely early in the week

Warmer days and some rain are likely early in the week

There are a few glimpses of sun this morning, but the sky is mostly cloudy and the clouds will become more dense as the day progresses. IN TUSCALOOSA YOU CAN SEE THE SUN, A SLIGHTLY MILD BEGINNING. Most of us are in our 40s, which is nice, but you’ll still want a coat for a while. THIS MORNING BUT. GADSDEN UP IN ETOWAH COUNTY, AT 33 DEGREES, SAW A LITTLE RAIN ON THE RADAR THIS MORNING. YOU CAN SEE ON THE SATELLITE RADAR COMPOSITE BUT WILL NOT REACH THE GROUND BECAUSE THE AIR IS STILL VERY DRY. And that’s why I don’t think we’ll see any rain until late afternoon. BUT THE CLOUDS ARE CONSTANTLY INCREASE WITH THE SOUTHWESTERN WIND. YOU CAN SEE HOW FAST THE CLOUDS ARE PURCHING IN IN THE HIGHER PLANES. TOWARDS THE WEST THE WEATHER IS WET AND WILL BE wetter later today and next TONIGHT AS WE GET MORE BREADSPEAKED RAIN HERE. It’s mostly cloudy today, but a lot milder I’d say. NOT WARMER BUT MID 50°C AT LUNCH TIME AND THEN OUR HIGH TEMPERATURE TODAY. IT’S CLIMBING ALMOST 60 DEGREES HERE IN BIRMINGHAM. CONSTANT SOUTH WIND. The rain won’t come until just before sunset and until this evening. Now there could be a few showers this afternoon, especially west of I-65, but no significant rain is expected until the overnight hours this evening. Monday morning will be wet. IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE WEEK WE START WITH SOME SLEEPY RAIN, AND IN SOME PLACES IT RAINS MORE THAN OTHERS. I think there will be a little more scattered rain on Tuesday, and there could be a few storms on Tuesday, but that’s more likely to be the case in the second half of the week in the southern US. AFTER A FRONT WE WILL BE DRY SO SHOWERS WILL EXPAND FROM THE WEST. TONIGHT. You’ll notice the coverage increases until 10pm tonight. We have widespread rain, most of it will be light tomorrow morning. Only a few rumbles of thunder are possible, but most of it will be just rain until tomorrow morning. We all get soaked in the early hours of the morning. YOU WILL NOTICE SOME OF THE HEaviest rainfall, although it will start in northwest Alabama and then drift south and east by 6:00 tomorrow morning. IF YOU BRING THE KIDS FOR SCHOOLS, THERE MAY STILL BE SOME RAIN NEARBY, ESPECIALLY EAST OF I-65, AND SOME OF IT MAY FLY CLOSER TO THE STATE CENTER AT THIS HOUR. That’s why I would plan for a wet commute. Grab the umbrella as you head out the door, and maybe the rain jacket too. THROUGH THE REST UNTIL THE REST OF TOMORROW. You may need it. THIS IS HOW THE RAIN COMES ACROSS NORTHWEST ALABAMA. FIRST THE HIGHER TOTALS UNTIL TOMORROW SPRING, AN INCH TO AN INCH AND A HALF OF RAIN. And then Monday night into Tuesday, as we get more rain, I think a warm front will form over the southern half of the state. AND SO SOME OF THE MAJOR RAINFALL WILL FALL FURTHER SOUTH. BUT WE SAY ON AVERAGE 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN. I think we’ll get close to an inch and a half here in Birmingham. After the rain we only cool down for a short time and reach highs of over 40 degrees. SOME FREEZING MORNINGS ON WEDNESDAY FOR THE LAST PART OF NEXT WEEK
