The New Orleans Saints got on the field early against Las Vegas and got creative.

Klint Kubiak doesn’t often dip into his bag of tricks, but in the last three weeks they’ve done it twice. Both times they went into that section of the playbook, the result was a touchdown.

On the first play of the second quarter, Spencer Rattler threw the ball to Kendre Miller, creating what appeared to be a generic running play. With Las Vegas sold out for the run, Miller threw the ball backwards to Rattler, who found Foster Moreau in the end zone.

This is a role reversal from New Orleans’ last attempt at trickery. Rattler passed the ball to Cedrick Wilson, who then threw it to Alvin Kamara for a touchdown against the Washington Commanders.

Ironically, both plays led to the first points of the game for the Saints.
