WBD announces new details on AEW partnership, including streaming content library at max

In case anyone has been living under some rock, streaming is set to take over the wrestling world in January. That includes WWE bringing “Raw” to Netflix and AEW moving to Max, where “Dynamite” and “Collision” will air simultaneously beginning Jan. 1. With those details out of the way, the next question about AEW on Max would be how much of the AEW library would be made available on the service, how quickly would it roll out, and when would AEW PPVs move to Max?

In a press release Thursday afternoon, AEW and Warner Brothers Discovery answered these questions. New episodes of “Dynamite” and “Collision” will be available on-demand on Max immediately after the show airs. This will allow fans who were unable to watch AEW TV live to watch the broadcasts immediately without having to wait several days, as was the case for episodes of “Raw” or “SmackDown” during the WWE Network days.

As for the 700+ hours of footage in the AEW library, the content is slowly being rolled out. While no timeline has been set for when Max will offer the entire AEW library, the first content that will be available will be all 2019 episodes of “AEW Dynamite” as well as the PPVs from this year. In addition, more than two months of current AEW programming will also be included. It was not specified whether 2019 episodes of “AEW Dark” will also be made available.

Regarding the AEW PPVs, it was reiterated that the PPVs would move to Max, “with all marketing and promotion for these PPV events focused solely on Max.” However, the press release stated that the AEW PPV Distribution to Max would begin “later in 2025,” suggesting it will have to wait a bit.
