Pretty clear skies, right? MICROPHONE. Yes, it looks like our weather is pretty calm. You know, I mean, we have a calm pattern that’s come through. We’ve had some snow and some rain, and a lot of people ask me, you know, what about the drought situation? You know, remember fall? It was so incredibly dry. WE HAVE ALMOST NO RAIN FOR A TIME. Well, that has changed quite a bit. We actually went from a dry pattern to a wet pattern. So if you look at Boston for the entire year, we’re currently 5 inches on the plus side. AND IN WORCESTER ALMOST AN INCH ON THE PLUS SIDE. THAT’S ONE OF THE THINGS we talk about in climate change, where there are big rain events, big droughts, big rain events, big droughts. This is a type of pattern that we will discuss in more detail. It looks like we’re pushing these heavier systems further and further. Just like Friday, we got five inches of snow from a system that probably normally would have given us 1 to 3 inches of snow. So if you look at the drought monitor that’s out there, this is the area that’s dry. BUT WE HAVE TRANSITIONED FROM THE SEVERE LEVEL OR ACTUALLY THE EXTREME LEVEL TO THE SEVERE AND MEDIUM LEVEL. AND THIS ONLY AFFECTS THE DATES BEFORE LAST WEEK’S SNOW. So our drought situation is improving dramatically. AND IF WE KEEP UP AT THIS PACE, WE WILL BE IN A VERY GOOD SITUATION AT THE END OF THE YEAR. FROM 2025. NOW AS YOU LOOK OVER THE CITY IT’S ALL CLEAR FOR 32 DEGREES FOR SANTA CLAUS FLYING THROUGH, A LIGHT BREEZE FROM THE NORTH AT 7 MILES PER HOUR AND THE NOW COOL WIND THAT IS ABOUT 26 DEGREES OUTSIDE. So what will happen in the next 12 hours? Well, the temperature will go down. We have a few clouds, especially along the coast. BUT IN INLAND AREAS THEY WILL BE CLEAR. AND OF COURSE THAT ALSO MEANS SOME COLDER TEMPERATURES. So overnight tonight you’ll see just offshore Marblehead has about 20 holes, 23 SCITUATE 23, but then moving inland with clear skies and a relatively fresh blanket of snow out there. WE WILL FEEL THE TEMPERATURES INTO THE TEENS TONIGHT. Additionally, this wind will blow some clouds towards the Cape. This means your temperatures stay a little warmer there. NANTUCKET COULD HARDLY GET BELOW FREEZING TONIGHT WITH 30 DEGREES, AN OVERNIGHT LOW. MORNING. COLD SUNSHINE TO START YOUR DAY SO SUNNY IF YOU ARE INLAND. BUT IF YOU ARE ON THE COAST YOU WILL SEE A FEW CLOUDS AND TEMPERATURES SHOULD Climb A LITTLE OVER THE FREEZING MARK TOMORROW AT AROUND 34 DEGREES. A northerly breeze is blowing. It’s sort of taking some moisture from the sea because it’s so cold and the sea is relatively warm, and then it’s driving these clouds right up to the coast. BUT INSIDE. TOMORROW TEMPERATURES WILL SEE HIGH IN THE MID 30S. They will still melt a little. So some of you still have quite a bit of ice cream out there. THIS WILL HELP. And it’s a slow melt that we’re talking about down here towards the Cape. You may be dealing with some clouds and they may try to move back to the south coast. And maybe even just kind of a clip cape and just a little bit with those clouds tomorrow. BUT THE TEMPERATURE TREND IS TO WARM THINGS UP. HERE THE AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR IS AROUND AROUND 40 DEGREES. We will reach this point on Friday and Saturday. BUT THEN WE CONTINUE TO WARM UP AS WE GO TO SUNDAY NEXT WEEK. With this next system coming through on Monday, it’s looking more like a rain event than a snow event right now. So if you look at the extended forecast extending through the first week of January, it looks like the Northeast will be relatively mild, with a few pockets of cool air developing to the west and south AS WELL. IN ORDER. Here’s what’s happening in the next seven days. SOME COASTAL CLOUDS OUTSIDE TOMORROW. And then we’re talking sunshine, dry weather and mild conditions on Thursday as we head into Saturday, clouds return on Sunday and temperatures will climb into the mid 40s. JUST WARMTH ENOUGH THAT WE’RE PROBABLY TALKING ABOUT MORE RAIN THAN SNOW ON MONDAY AS THE NEXT SYSTEM WORKS THROUGH, AND LOOK AT IT. WE COULD HAVE ABOUT 50 DEGREES AGAIN BY TUESDAY NEXT WEEK. MOTHER NATURE LIKES TO DO THIS. We get really cold, then we warm up really, and then we call it average, which is just about somewhere in the mid-average range. THIS TIME O
