West Ham striker Michail Antonio was involved in a horrific car accident on Saturday.
He was then taken to the hospital.
“West Ham United can confirm that Michail Antonio is in a stable condition following a road accident in the Essex area this afternoon,” the team said in a statement. “Mikhail is conscious and communicative and is currently under close supervision in a hospital in central London.
“During this difficult time, we kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of Mikhail and his family. The club will have no further comment this evening but will provide a further update in due course.”

A photo of Antonio’s badly damaged car surfaced on social media, although the image was not confirmed to be his vehicle.
Antonio, 34, joined West Ham in 2015 and has been an integral part of the team’s set-up ever since.
He has one goal and one assist in the Premier League this year.

Antonio competes internationally for Jamaica.
Several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City, responded to West Ham’s post on X with support.
