What do you think about the series finale? (OPINION POLL)

(Warning: The following contains MAJOR spoilers for Blue blood Series finale, “End of Tour.”

Blue blood is over. The CBS procedural capped 14 seasons of storytelling with a thrilling episode that brought together the entire Reagan family and their allies in the same case and forced each of them to take stock of their lives.

In “End of Tour,” deadly chaos spread across the city after a Supreme Court justice was assassinated and NYPD officers (including Eddie and Badillo) and the mayor were the target of a series of coordinated attacks carried out by the combined New York gangs Yorks were staged. They demanded an amnesty for the release of their imprisoned members and others awaiting trial. The judge was not the only person to die in the violence.

Eddie (Vanessa Ray) and his partner Badillo (Ian Quinlan) were having a relaxing day at work when filming began. Eddie was shot, but it was not life-threatening. However, Badillo suffered serious injuries that led to his death, as some fans predicted based on the series finale funeral photos. In a private moment in his hospital room, Mayor Chase (Dylan Walsh) urged Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) to disregard the chain of command and metaphorically take the “keys to the city.” In this way, the mayor asked Frank to use all necessary means to bring these people to justice. He needed the NYPD detective to act like a cop again, and that’s exactly what Frank did.

Frank used the power of his office to question the imprisoned Lorenzo Batista (Edward James Olmos) in a confidential interrogation. He gathered information about Lorenzo’s son Alejandro, who was one of the people involved in planning and carrying out the attacks. Frank told the reluctant Lorenzo that life in prison was better than death for his son, and said that he would give anything to ensure that his eldest son Joe (a police officer who died on the job before the events of the series premiere) be alive. even if that meant spending all the time with him during prison visiting hours.

Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), Baez (Marisa Ramirez) and Eddie worked together to find Carlo Ramirez (Manny Perez), who previously had to flee the country but returned to seek revenge and get his daughter back. Henry’s (Len Cariou) advice to Danny on how to catch Carlo was also family-oriented: “Think like a father.”

Jamie (Will Estes) had family on his mind as he worked to bring his wife’s shooter and Badillo’s killer to justice. His nephew Joe (Will Hochman) helped. And the idea that police officers could be targeted made Erin (Bridget Moynahan) fearful of losing another brother, so she worked with the NYPD to find the attackers.

There were sad and happy endings in the episode. Badillo’s funeral was intended to be a demonstration of the sacrifices made in this industry. Later there were some unexpectedly romantic moments, such as when Erin and Jack (Peter Hermann) decided to get married again privately. In a moment that would surely be exciting for Danny and Baez fans, Danny made good on his promise to his grandfather to go find love after this case was over. After the dust settled, he invited Baez out for pizza, telling her that he was fulfilling a promise to his grandfather.

At the Reagan family’s final dinner, both of Danny’s sons and Erin and Jack’s daughter returned, and Jamie and Eddie announced that they were expecting a baby. When the series came to an end, there wasn’t a dry eye in the table. The final shot was a shot of Selleck’s Reagan smiling at his family.
