What IU’s football defense focused on after OSU’s loss to power Purdue win

BLOOMINGTON — The scoreboard indicated the game was long over when Indiana linebacker Jailin Walker forced Purdue to fumble less than three minutes into the fourth quarter. It was long over when Indiana recovered and rallied its offense for a touchdown that came just one drive later, taking a 59-0 lead.

But for the Hoosiers, the score was 0-0.

“We knew we had to be consistent,” Walker said. “For teams where we get past 21, sometimes they let up. So let’s just step on the gas. We keep doing what we have to do. Then they let up.”
