What You Should Know, Alternate Routes – NBC New York

NJ Transit rail passengers entering or exiting New York Penn Station can expect delays of up to an hour Monday morning.

The railroad said the delays were due to problems with the Amtrak overhead line near Newark Penn Station.

Midtown Direct service to New York will be rerouted to Hoboken. North Jersey Coast Line and Northeast Corridor rail service is suspended in both directions.

NJ Transit train tickets are honored by PATH at the Newark, Hoboken and 33rd Street-NY stations. NJ Transit and private transportation buses also accept rail tickets.

Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New York discontinued

Amtrak service between New York (NYP) and Philadelphia (PHL) has also been suspended due to “trolley damage.” Amtrak said.

Amtrak said on social media that service was expected to be restored around 12 p.m
