What’s next for Raiders after the win?

The Las Vegas Raiders did it. They ended their 10-game losing streak by defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 16 with a final score of 19-14. While the win doesn’t help their season, it may have just lightened the mood in the Raider locker room.

Quarterback Aidan O’Connell may have just sent a message to the Raiders’ front office to let them know that he can be a great quarterback if given the chance. In the win, O’Connell threw for 257 yards on 24 completions. O’Connell led this struggling Raiders team to victory for the first time since Gardner Minshew was on the roster.

In the future, the Raiders can look forward to the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Chargers. In the “hunt” for a playoff spot, the Raiders would love nothing more than to exploit their newfound winning mentality, make it second or third in a row, and end their opponent’s playoff hopes.

Raider Nation may not have been happy with what happened this season. but fans I have ensured that the team is fueled when it comes to improving the franchise in the future. Now that the Raiders have a 3-12 record and brought the Jaguars to the same record, the New York Giants are the only number one pick position. But the season is not over yet.

Even though a top draft pick might be the goal, these young Raiders played with confidence and heart, and never for a moment did they think about just ending the season like that. Veteran running back Ameer Abdullah has helped this team in more ways than one since joining in 2022

Abdullah stepped into the running back role well for the Raiders, collecting 38 rushing yards on seven carries, 47 receiving yards on five receptions, and even returned two punt returns for a total of 28 yards. The veteran will continue to try to find ways to help this Raiders team in what could be the final weeks of his Raiders career.

The main game of the upcoming Raiders season should be finding ways to keep their heads up. Even though the season didn’t go the way this team wanted, they brought smiles and a win for themselves and their fans just in time for the holidays.
