Who got the most snow in Upstate NY? Hit a city by more than 5 feet (see full list)

Syracuse, NY – Lake effect snow gripped much of Western New York and the North Country over the weekend, with one city receiving more than 5 feet (1.5 meters) of snow.

Snow was recorded across much of Upstate New York, but seven of the top 10 snowfall totals were recorded in the North Country.

Barners Corners in Jefferson County topped the list with 65.5 inches as of 7 a.m. Monday.

Orchard Park — home of the Buffalo Bills — was not included in the weekend storm totals but recorded 20 inches Sunday afternoon. More snow fell during the prime time football game.

Snowfall is expected to continue on Monday. Lake effect snow warnings are in effect for Western New York until 7 p.m. Tuesday. Between 12 and 20 inches of snow could fall in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties between 9 a.m. Monday and Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the National Weather Service, a winter weather advisory is in effect for Madison, Onondaga and Southern Cayuga counties until 1 p.m. Tuesday. An additional 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected to fall, with the highest totals in western Onondaga County.
