Why does Snoop Dogg have his own college football bowl game?

As with other college football bowl games, Snoop Dogg signed an affiliation agreement with the Arizona Bowl to serve as the bowl game title and presenting sponsor.

The rapper announced the Arizona Bowl’s multi-year sponsorship partnership with him on Monday, May 6, on X (formerly Twitter). Snoop Dogg’s sponsorship makes his alcoholic drink with Dr. Dre – Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop – the presenting sponsor of the bowl game.

Before Snoop Dogg partnered with the Arizona Bowl, the bowl itself was sponsored by Barstool Sports. The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl, as it is called, is the first alcohol product to serve as the presenting sponsor of an NCAA-sanctioned bowl game.

“College football fans are exhausted with talk of NIL, conference realignment, coaching moves, transfer portals and superconferences. “So it’s time to go back to the roots of college football when it focused on the colleges, the players, the competition, the community, the fan experience and the pageantry,” Snoop Dogg said on March 6. Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop launched in February this year. The company name and first ready-to-drink product pay homage to a Snoop Dogg’s hit from the album “Doggystyle,” written by Dr. Dre and Death Row Records were produced.

“We are excited about our groundbreaking partnership with Snoop and Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop,” Arizona Bowl Executive Director Kym Adair said in a statement.

“This year, the Arizona Bowl combines sports, libations and entertainment in one unique bowl game, and we are changing the definition of what a brand partnership is in the NCAA.”
