Will No Good Deed return for season 2? The finale leaves the door slightly open

The eight-episode Netflix show stars “Friends” alum Lisa Kudrow and “Everybody Loves Raymond” star Ray Romano as Lydia and Paul Morgan, grieving parents who find their seemingly perfect Los Angeles home three years after their son’s death want to sell. Jacob (Wyatt Aubrey).

An open house attracts the attention of three couples in the neighborhood, all of whom want to make an offer. But the further the episodes progress, the more intense the plot becomes and a crime thriller unfolds. The dramatic finale will leave viewers wanting more (warning: spoilers ahead).

Here’s what we know so far about whether No Good Deed will return for a second season.

The finale reveals who really killed Jacob as Lydia and Paul finally sell their house

The finale reveals that Margo (Linda Cardellini), real name Luann, had an inappropriate relationship with Jacob. On the night of his murder, Margo caught Jacob breaking into her and her husband JD’s (Luke Wilson) home wearing a ski mask and stealing the gifts he gave her.

She threatened to tell the whole neighborhood about his theft, and he countered by threatening to tell JD about their secret relationship. Margot then chased Jacob back to his house, saying that she wouldn’t lose everything because of him. When Jacob tried to open his front door, Margo shot him. So it was Margo, not Jacob’s sister Emily (Chloe East), who shot him.

JD, already pushed to his limits by Margo’s manipulation, takes revenge on her by setting her house on fire while she enjoys a bubble bath.

The finale jumps six months later and shows where everyone ended up.

Lydia and Paul sold their house to Leslie (Abbi Jacobson) and Sarah (Poppy Liu), who are expecting their first child together.

Margo survived the house fire but has burn marks on one side of her face. Most recently, she was arrested by Paul and Lydia’s nephew Nate (Kevin Alves), a police officer. Meanwhile, JD is thriving after landing a role in a western called Teton Territory.

The Morgans also find closure three years after their son’s death. Lydia begins playing the piano again and performs alongside Emily, who plays a song devised by Jacob while Paul looks on.

Netflix has not yet announced a second season of “No Good Deed.”

The first season finale ties up most of the storylines well, but there’s still one glaring loose end that could lend itself to a possible second season if Netflix decides to renew No Good Deed.

In the time jump, it turns out that new parents Dennis (OT Fagbenle) and Carla (Teyonah Parris) have bought the property that previously belonged to JD and Margo. Carla is under the impression that they were able to buy the property with the advance from Dennis’ third book. But in reality, Dennis quietly cashed Carla’s estranged father Randall’s $5 million check.

So far, Feldman has not commented on what a possible second season might look like.

“I want viewers to think about where the Morgans are,” she told Tudum. “I step away from my favorite shows and think about (the characters) – ask myself questions, (mentally) write the rest of the story myself. And I want to encourage people to do that.”

While he waits for news on No Good Deed, the streamer has plenty of other options to tune into, like Keira Knightley’s new thriller series Black Doves or the bizarre docuseries The Kings of Tupelo: A Southern Crime Saga.

“No Good Deed” is now streaming on Netflix.
