Winter storm warnings and weather advisories bring snow Thursday

Snow will continue to fall across most of the state on Thursday, with the heaviest rainfall occurring in the morning hours. Colder air moves in Thursday evening before milder air returns next week.

The winter storm warning remains in effect for much of central and southeastern Minnesota through most of Thursday, with winter weather warnings north and south of the warned area.

Snow will continue through most of Thursday, with the heaviest precipitation occurring in the morning hours. The lighter snowfall will ease in the evening and early night of Thursday.

Total snowfall from the storm will be greatest in central Minnesota and along the North Coast. Smaller amounts will be seen in southwestern Minnesota and near the international border.

Temperatures will be in the 20 to 15 C range for much of the day Thursday, so the salt will work pretty well, at least on the roads in the Twin Cities.

It will get colder overnight, with temperatures below zero in the north to sub-zero in the southeast.

Friday and Saturday will be cool, but also with some sunshine. The maximum values ​​are usually in the tens.

Another clipper system will move in late Sunday into early Monday with some lighter snowfall. Next week we can expect a mild week. Highs will be above freezing in southern Minnesota, so enjoy the new snow while you can!
