A passenger took an alternative route off an Alaska Airlines plane after landing in Seattle on Sunday evening.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, the Port of Seattle emergency dispatch center was alerted to an incident at Gate N9 involving incoming Alaska Airlines Flight 323, said Perry Cooper, media relations manager at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, in a statement to Fox News Digital.

Cooper said that while the plane was disembarking, a female passenger on board became “scared” and opened the emergency exit above the wing.

Because of her fear, Cooper said, the woman then climbed onto the wing of the plane.

Cooper added that the Port of Seattle Fire Department responded and helped the passenger from the aircraft wing to the ramp.

The Port Police crisis team responded, Cooper said, and ultimately decided to send the passenger to the hospital for evaluation.
